Why did I create a blog? What will I write about? #newblog #domore #quote

It seems fitting to start off this post with one of my all time favourite quotes.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - - Mark Twain

I am a Registered Midwife, a Hypnobirthing Australia™ Practitioner, a lover of nature, surfing & being outdoors. Alex (my partner) and I renovated a van in 2018 and have now been living/working on the road for just over 5 months. I'm a travelling van-life Midwife!

Alex and I had been talking about buying a van for a few years, and then finally committed in June 2018! There was going to be no better time to do it, personally living by the moto of 'DO MORE'. We spent the following 4 months (mostly on the weekends) renovating and learning on the go. Then finally moved into the van full time in October 2018.

We are now exploring more of Australia, working on the road, and discovering beautiful hikes and surfing spots along the way. Doing MORE of the things that fill me with joy (not working full time indoors).

I wanted to create this blog as a way of recording this amazing and unique time in my life.

It's also a great way for me to reflect on research articles (and provide education to expecting parents) as part of my CPD (continuing professional development) points needed each year as a Midwife.

You can expect posts to include:

* Van-life / travel tips & tricks

* Health & Fitness (surfing, hiking, running, snow boarding)

* Midwife "stuff" - working on the road, useful information for expecting parents

I hope you enjoy my posts, and it inspires you to DO MORE!
